ABOUT JEFF:
Earliest Baseball Memory: Early 60s, we were living in Rockford , Ill. My Dad and Grandpa were going to a Braves game in Milwaukee. I wanted to go so badly. I didn’t even know what baseball was, but I remember wanting to go so badly. Sadly, I’d have to wait a couple years to attend my first game, Angels and Twins at Met Stadium in 1965.
Most Cherished Autograph: in the early 70s, my dad worked for WCCO. My brothers and I got to go with him one day to film some pregame shows at the Met. Harmon and Ken Sanders were players featured. My Dad took some pictures of us with them. One of them, the 3 of us, with Harmon, he later got personally autographed teach of us. It sits on my desk to this day.
Brush With Fame: 1997, I was in Tampa attending a Vikings game with former Groundout, Scott Hennessey. The elevator was out of order at the hotel we were staying at. I was heading down the stairway when there was a slight disturbance a couple floors below. Suddenly I’m face to face with 4 big dudes all dressed in black and in the middle of them, a little guy dressed in bright yellow. It was Little Richard. He’s stopped on the landing next to me and said “How you doing tonight Sir?” And shook my hand. Crazy!
Shirt Size: XL
Biggest Trade Regret: Traded a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th to SHE for Zach Greinke in 2014. It was the year after winning it all in 2013, and didn’t even make the playoffs.
Streaming Networks: MLBTV, Apple, Prime, YoutubeTV, Netflix. Hulu. Add on Paramount+ and Peacock if they have something I want to watch.
Loyal to Brand: Ican’t really think of any
Favorite Vacation: Caribbean cruise with my wife for our 20th anniversary.
Best Uniforms: I’m going to go with Le Blue, Blanc et Rouge of Les Montreal Canadiens. So sharp!
Why I Love PGB: The friendships I’ve made over the years with most Groundouts. Getting the opportunity to know some of you better as we’ve been able to get together on various Groundout Conventions over the years.
